So, after this blog went down for a few days last week and then came back, it went right down again… I finally gave up on trying to solve the problem myself and hired someone who knows what the hell they’re doing to clean up my files instead. Explorative Approach has been back online for a few days again and I’m ready to tentatively announce: “I’m back!?”
Damage report: One post went lost forever (the original “Sorry for the Downtime” one) and a few comments were also swallowed into oblivion. Very sorry for that.
So, here’s what was in the last post, in a nutshell:
- Take care of your blog security
- Make backups
- Seriously, don’t wait till your blog gets hit
- Read this
- Watch this
- Check out these plugins
- Keep your WordPress installation and all plugins up to date
This incident has been a bit of a setback for Explorative Approach, but I still have a ton of self-experiments going and others planned, book-reviews coming up and lots of other stuff I can’t wait to get published. It’s just now all been delayed by about two weeks.
Stay safe (on- and offline).
