What if that was the only thing that carried any weight or mattered to anyone? What if only your actions mattered?
Not your words, not your thoughts, not your beliefs, not your principles, not your plans, not your hopes, not your dreams, not what you actually really mean, not your friends, not your possessions, not your genes and predispositions, not your personality, not your past, not your reasons, not your mindset.
Only your actions, what you actually do, from this moment onward.
What would happen if you lived your life as though this were true?
In the movie “13th Warrior”, Antonio Banderas plays the main character who is an Arab who finds himself out of place on a quest with a bunch of burly Vikings (makes more sense when you actually see the movie). When he is given a sword by one of the Vikings, he complains that the sword is much too heavy and asks how the hell he’s supposed to fight with a sword that he can hardly lift. To this, one of the Vikings replies:
“Grow stronger, little brother.”
That’s basically the approach I’m taking in regards to personal productivity.
In 2010, there will be one large focus in my life and also on Explorative Approach. That focus is productivity.
Recent developments in my life and my businesses have been very interesting and promising, but unfortunately, my life is pretty chaotic right now. So, in 2010 I’ll be concentrating on getting my time-management and personal productivity sorted out.
A few days ago my 30 Videos in 30 Days challenge came to an end. This post is about two things: first, I have to deliver proof that I actually made 30 videos in the past 30 days. And second, I want to tell you a few things that I learned during this challenge. Let me say straight away that I’m very happy I started this challenge, because I had what was probably the best learning experience I’ve ever gotten out of one of these challenges.
This post and it’s title refer to a post that Steve Pavlina made on his blog quite a long time ago. The premise of said post is very simple: It shows you how you can find your life’s purpose, the reason why you are here in the first place and the answer to the question about what you are supposed to do in your life. And all you need is a pen, some paper and about 20 minutes of your time.
This is just a quick video I made today about a new insight that I’ve had. It’s thanks to my 30 Videos in 30 Days challenge that I came to a point where I have to rethink what I am doing with these videos. Specifically, the ones I am making for ExplorativeApproach. Instead of writing more about it, I’ll just let the video do the talking:
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts about this.
I decided to launch into a new personal challenge, even though the 30 Videos in 30 Days one is still under way (and going quite well, thanks for asking). The challenge is simply to build enough strength to be able to do 21 pull-ups. Clean pull-ups, mind you. But just watch the video, where you’ll see exactly what I mean.
This is another entry in my personal 30 Videos in 30 Days challenge. I tried out a new webcam with this one and the result is… well, not as charming as I had hoped. But it’s all about the content, right? In this video, I share a short story about a personal realization I had. The realization has to do with fighting chickens and martial arts.
No, I haven’t gotten stuck with my 30 Videos in 30 Days project (thankfully). This video is about some of the thoughts I have on why we tend to get stuck and how we can get unstuck again. It is something of a sequel to my last video (Taking Action in the Information Age), since [...]
This is another video-entry. In today’s video I share some of my thoughts about what it means to live in the information age. You (yes, you) are one of the most privileged people in the history of humankind. I know that, because you’re reading something on the Internet. The access you have to information is [...]
